On February 22, 2024, Azorfisk, as a subscriber to the booklet, took part in the 1st Forum on the new operating model of the Azores Sustainability Booklet, which was held at NONAGON - São Miguel Science and Technology Park.

At the event, it was possible to develop, in a relaxed and very enlightening atmosphere, many of the Themes related to the project that carry out the subject that all the subscribing companies and Azorfisk in particular have set themselves on the sustainability of companies and the community in general.

The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, adopted by all United Nations member states in 2015, defines the priorities and aspirations of global sustainable development for 2030 and seeks to mobilize global efforts around a set of common goals and targets.

Since Azorfisk has always been a company concerned with the issue of sustainability, and since this issue has been instilled in our company's internal policy through more sustainable working methods, we have been working and committing to the model of the Azores Sustainability Primer, in order to achieve the aspirations and general objectives of the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) and achieve sustainable growth within our organization.

To this end, measures have been taken at Azorfisk, such as the installation of solar panels, the rationalization of water consumption, the intention to use rainwater, the installation of LED lighting throughout the facility, the reduction of paper consumption by adopting computerization practices and digital archives, the reduction of animal waste, thus reducing the emission of CO2 gases into the atmosphere and therefore its ecological footprint.

These are the first steps towards a strategy for sustainable industrial activity.
